The Birth of Our Company, “RUBY VALLEY” and Ultimate Dreams/Missions
Direct Exposure to the World – lack of direct exposure with the gemstones and jewellery lovers around the world has made Mogok unseen from the eyes of the ruby and gemstones lovers as stated in 'the History of Mogok'.
We want to overcome this challenge in our era remarkably with the help of our international partners, who are not just willing to sell gemstones but to make a positive change for a hidden place that offers the world’s finest rubies.
To help the local market – we are aware there are sanctions on Myanmar gemstone industry imposed by certain countries to prevent income generation for large companies linked to the currently-ruling organization committed human rights violations. The reality is there are still many more small companies and smallholder traders not linked with that organization.
We have seen that those large companies may change their registration names easily and/or sell the gemstones to other unsanctioned countries as they are very capable to do so. But the local market run by small companies and small-scale traders has become thriving. Imposing sanctions do not SIMPLY stop selling gemstones of Burma. Instead, there are an increased rate of smuggling of rubies and gemstones into the neighbouring countries resulting more exploitation by business people from those countries.
Please reach us should you be interested in discovering how we offer the cross-cutting solutions and how your collaboration can accelerate our actions.
Ethical Sourcing – it has become the biggest challenge in the gemstone industry today. The highly prestigious jewelry companies or jewelers are worried about they might, unknowingly, buy the gemstones that give funding to the currently-ruling organization to commit crimes against humanity or human rights violations. But according to researches, the majority of jewelry companies cannot declare adequate due diligence measures to ensure their supply chains because they have no clue about where, when, and how these gemstones come from.
The main reason is they source the gemstones from our neighbouring countries, NOT directly from Burma especially from the NATIVE company like ours. We have a solid knowledge of formally and informally where the gemstones come from and how to put our effort to ensure ethical sourcing.
We only want our customers to wear the extraordinarily gorgeous gemstones & jewelries with a strong confidence and pride knowing these jewelries have come from LOVE, not BLOOD.

To contribute to local development – the majority of Mogok’s people work in mining and gemstones trading in small-scale. In different eras, they earn the least share in the value chain and live in poor living standards in their lifetime in terms of women and children. Factors such as lack of business opportunities, poor education level, exploitation and frauds also contribute their misfortune.
We have the best solutions and plans to contribute to local development by sharing the interest from our company. Our founder believes that to make a positive change to local development is necessary not only as a company but also as a native woman herself. Reach Ms. May, our founder, may.kyaw@ruby-valley.com, should you be interested in what our best solutions in details.
